Terms of use
By using MediCase you agree to these terms. Last reviewed: . Governed by the laws of England & Wales.
The service
MediCase (operated by Auxtechna Ltd., a company registered in
England & Wales) provides a prescribing simulator,
case-study library and question bank for UK pharmacy, medical
and nursing students, with educator-facing authoring and
live-classroom tools. Access is via your tenant subdomain on
auxtechna.co.uk.
Educational-content disclaimer
MediCase is a training tool. It is not clinical advice. Cases, drug data, dose suggestions and "model answers" are written for educational purposes only and must never be used to make real prescribing decisions for actual patients. Always defer to the BNF, your local formulary, your supervisor and your clinical judgement on placement or in practice.
We make no warranty that case content is current, complete or free of errors. We update content regularly but you remain responsible for verifying any clinical fact against an authoritative source.
Accounts
- You're responsible for keeping your password safe. Don't share your account.
- Educator and educator-admin accounts have elevated permissions — you're responsible for actions taken from your account, including content you publish to your tenant.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, threaten platform security, or contain inappropriate content.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the platform to harass, discriminate against or identify real patients.
- Upload personally identifying patient data. All cases must be anonymised — names, dates, MRNs and other identifiers changed.
- Scrape, mirror, or automate access to the platform without written permission.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, paywalls, tenant isolation or platform-admin controls.
- Reverse-engineer the platform or attempt to access another tenant's data.
Subscriptions (direct students)
- Free tier: browse the full library, run cases marked Free tier, use the ePMA simulator. No card required.
- Paid monthly: full library, mixed revision, gamified streaks. Billed via Stripe; subject to Stripe's terms for the payment itself.
- Cancel any time from the in-app Subscription menu. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: we don't offer pro-rata refunds for partial months, but contact us if you've been charged in error and we'll sort it.
University site licences
University access is governed by the written agreement we sign with your institution (typically an annual invoice + a data-processing addendum). Where those terms conflict with this page, the institution agreement wins for that tenant's users.
Content ownership
- Cases, questions and educational materials you author on a university tenant belong to your institution. We host them.
- Cases you author on the central students tenant as an invited author are governed by the separate author agreement.
- Your portfolio entries, reflections and CPD logs belong to you and travel with your account export.
Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is" without an SLA on the free tier. Paid tiers and university tenants get best-effort response times — see your agreement for specifics. We may change product features, pricing or these terms with reasonable notice (typically 30 days for material changes).
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, or for losses arising from your use of educational content in real clinical practice (see the disclaimer above).
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the in-app settings or by emailing info@auxtechna.co.uk. We may terminate accounts for breach of these terms, with notice where practical.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
